This is a position that allows an experienced accountant to acquire operational and leadership experience whilst maintaining their client–facing and hands-on accounting responsibilities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• The completion of year-end accounts, CT600, Corporation Tax computations and Self-Assessment Tax Returns for a portfolio of clients
• Supporting a team of Accountants, and directors to continuously deliver the agreed level of service.
• Supporting the directors with all operational matters

The ideal Candidate will have the following experience/skills:

• Due to the level of this role it is essential that you have experience within an accountancy practice
• Part-qualified / Qualified accountant (ACCA/AAT/ACA)
• An ability to prepare accounts, VAT Returns, corporation tax and Self Assessment Tax Returns

The Role - Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing all aspects of a varied portfolio of clients following the firm’s established policies and procedures
• Be pro-active in providing added-value to the clients
• Maintaining client relationships at an appropriate level
• Accountable for work in progress, job budgets and the billing of work.
• Training and supervising junior members of staff
• Involvement in internal meetings to ensure work in progress is actively manage communicate with directors, clients and colleagues in a professional manner

The Person - Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

• ACA/ACCA qualification essential
• Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Good technical knowledge in the areas of accounts, taxation and the commercial aspects of business. Experience of supervising and training staff
• The ability to self-manage, to organise workload, to work quickly and accurately.
• A flexible and willing approach and be comfortable working within a team
• Looking to develop your wide range of general practice experience in a dynamic and established firm
